Deci-means one-tenth of a unit and Kilo means 1,000 units
The unit we are talking about here is liter. So combining the terms we would have:

1 liter = 10 deciliters
1 kiloliter =1,000L

So taking this into account, we can convert 53,000 dL into kL:
[tex]53,000dL[/tex] x [tex] \frac{1L}{10dL} [/tex] x [tex] \frac{1kL}{1,000L} [/tex]
