[tex]5x + 7.5y = - 5[/tex]


then, you use elemination by substraction to get rid of x:
[tex]2.5y = - 15[/tex]


try to solve for y to get y = -6, and then you use either equation 1 or 2 to find the value of x, which in both cases is equal to 8.
