Within the next 2 to 4 months, the effects of the atomic bombings in Nagasaki and Hiroshima have killed 39,000 to 80,000 people in Nagasaki, and 90,000 to 146,000 people in Hiroshima. On the first day of the bombing, almost half of the deaths in every city have occurred.
