I've tried 4 times but each time my awenser doesn't add up
[tex] - 3 = - 7 + 4(x + 6)[/tex]

-7+4x+24=-3
4x=-3+7-24
4x=-20
x=-5

[tex] \bf -3=-7+4(x+6)\implies \stackrel{\textit{adding 7 to both sides}}{4=4(x+6)}\implies \stackrel{\textit{dividing both sides by 4}}{\cfrac{4}{4}=\cfrac{4(x+6)}{4}}
