If f(x)= square root x +12 and g(x)=2 square root x, what is the value of (f-g)(144)

Arranged vertically, you'd have:

f(x) = x + 12

-g(x) = -2√x

--------------------

= x - 2√x + 12

Now, letting x = 144, we get

(f - g)(x) = 144 - 2(12) + 12 = 144 - 12 = 132
