what impact did the Battle of New Orleans have on the United States in 1815 ?

It was just about the only glorious victory the US had in the War of 1812. so it was something for Americans to talk about and write about and sing about. It made Americans feel good about themselves. Their frontier troops more than held their own against the experienced British troops who had defeated Napoleon earlier.
