Pie charts are very different from other types of charts/graphs. They do not use axes to plot points. There are two ways pie charts can be misrepresented and it is important to be aware of this

1. Leaving out one or more of the parts of the whole.
2. Not defining what the whole stands for.
If a small part of the whole is left out, it will increase the percent values of the other parts displayed. If we do not define a whole, then we have no idea what these parts represent.
