So here we must use the distance formula.

It is:
[tex] \sqrt{(y2 - y1) ^{2} + (x2 - x1) ^{2} } [/tex]
So say (-4,6) is pair one
and ( 3, -7) is pair two

so
[tex] \sqrt{ ( - 7 - 6)^{2} + ({3 - ( - 4)})^{2} } [/tex]

From there we simplify
-7 -6 is -13 and 13 squared is 169
3 - (-4) is 7 and 7 squared is 49
169 plus 49 is 218
square root of 218

[tex] \sqrt{218} [/tex]
You xan not simplify square root of 218, so your exact answer will be square root of 218.
