The sum of two numbers is 27. One of the numbers is three more than the other. Find the numbers.

x & y are the numbers
x + y = 26
x = y + 3

So if we substitute,
(y+3) + y = 26
2y + 3. = 26
- 3 - 3
2y. = 23. Divide by 2
y = 11.5
Add 3 and x = 14.5
