If the train travels 18 mph you just have to divide 270 by 18 and that would be your answer.

So 270/18 = 15 which means it would take the train 15 hours to travel 270 miles.

Hey there,

Make a proportion: 18 miles/1 hour=270 miles/x hours.

Now, we cross multiply, 18x=270.

18x/18x=270/18.

270/18=15.

Answer:x=15 hours
