The length of a rectangle is 2 cm more than 3 times its width. Find the length of the rectangle if the perimeter is 44 cm

L = 3W + 2

P = 2W + 2L

44 = 2W + 2 * (3W + 2)

44 = 2W + 6W + 4

40 = 8W

W = 5

Substitute back into L equation;

L = 3 * 5 + 2

L = 17
