Answer: The Quartering Act was an act placed upon local governments of the American colonies which made it mandatory for them to provide British soldiers with housing and food in times of war. This made the colonist angry because it seemingly violated the Bill of Rights and the British also decided to require several kinds of taxes from the colonists to help pay for the French and Indian War.
