Speed (v) = 5.0 [tex]m.s^{-1}[/tex]

To find, the kinetic energy of boat (KE) = ?

We know that,

Kinetic energy = [tex]\dfrac{1}{2} mv^{2}[/tex]

= [tex]\dfrac{1}{2} \times 2000 \times 5.0^{2} J[/tex]

= 1000 × 25 J

= 25000 J

= [tex]\dfrac{25000}{1000}[/tex] KJ [ ∵ 1 KJ = 1000 J]

= 25 KJ

∴ The kinetic energy of boat (KE) = 25000 J or,  25 KJ
