Semi colons are like periods basically. Just see it as that. Theyre used to kinda expand the same ideas of the first sentence.

Explanation:

A semicolon is put in a sentence between two clauses. Take this sentence, for example.

I threw a frisbee it landed in a tree.

We put the semicolon there:

I threw a frisbee; it landed in a tree.
