D. You define if a quadratic equation has an answer or not by the delta (the calculation inside the sqrt on the quadratic formula). So you simply calculate b^2 -4ac, if the answer is equal or greater than zero there is a solution, if not there isn’t. (Consider ax^2+bx+c) Hope it helped :)
