The polynomial p(x) = 5x^3 - 9x^2 - 6x + 8 has a known factor of (x+1). Rewrite p(x) as a product of linear factors. (plz help)

5x^3-9x^2-6x + 8

= (x+1)(5x-4)(x-2)

Firstly, we need to get the other polynomial by which we can multiply the linear factor

What we have to do here is to divide the bigger polynomial by its linear factor

We can do this by long division, please check attachment for this

By kind division, the other factor is;

5x^2-14x + 8

So, we proceed to factorize this;

We have this as ;

5x^2-10x-4x+ 8

5x(x-2) -4(x-2)

= (5x-4)(x-2)
