Why does Ralph cry at the end of the novel?

 He cries for the loss of innocence of the boys on the island. Ralph sobs as he learns he is on the verge of death at the hands of Jack and Roger. Ralph is also pleased to see the naval officer again. He knows he has been rescued, but he is heartbroken at the loss of his friend Piggy.
