c(d(x)) = (d(x))^2 + 1 (replace x with d(x))

that means d(x) has to be x for c(d(x)) to equal [tex]x^{2}[/tex] + 1

b. for example if you use 2 as x, c(d(x)) will equal 5 since d(x) = 2 and [tex]2^{2}[/tex] + 1 = 5

d(c(x)) will also equal 5 because c(x) = [tex]2^{2}[/tex] + 1 = 5 and d(c(x)) = c(x) = 5
