[tex] - 1 \frac{1}{5} + ( - \frac{3}{5} ) \\ \\ - \frac{6}{5} - \frac{3}{5} = - \frac{9}{5} \\ \\ = - 1.8 = - \frac{9}{5} = - 1 \frac{4}{5} [/tex]

This is because a negative overrides a positive, making it 1 1/5-3/5, make it -6/5-3/5= -9/5
