True, because you invest in the company. If the company does good, your share becomes worth more. If the company is doing badly, your share is worth less, so you lose money.
Because if you buy into say 1% of that company and they do well they will pay you back in which you can reinvest with that money until you get enough to say start a retirment and live life.
