To convert a number (Decimals most of the time) to a percent, simply multiply by 100. For example, 80% is equal to .80. If you take .80 and multiply by 100 you get .80 x 100 = 80. 80 is our percent, so we write it as 80%. To convert a percent to a decimal, which is how almost all math problems require it to be written as, is to divide by 100. Another example, .50 is equal to 50%.
