Simplify : y = 2x + 3

Replace x = 1 -> y = 5

We will draw a line that goes through the point 1 on the x axis, and point 5 on the y axis (cant draw right now, sorry xd)

(Now, you can find the gradient by simply forming a right triangle with the hypotenuse being the line itself, but i will use the slope to save time)

We will select 2 points : (1;0) and (0;5)

Replace it into m = [tex]\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}[/tex] = [tex]\frac{5-0}{0-1} = -5[/tex]
