Conductors with a low resistance are usually used in power lines to prevent as much transmission loss as possible, conductors with a high resistance (which is relative since you could basically say it’s a high resistance conductor is basically an insulator like rubber which is meant to protect people from touching things) is telephone lines which can be made out of cheaper metals since not much electricity is needed to transmit a signal
