The slope (m) of a line is derived with two points given as follows;

[tex]\begin{gathered} m=\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1} \\ \text{Where A(1,-4), B(3,-1)} \\ m=\frac{-1-\lbrack-4\rbrack}{3-1} \\ m=\frac{-1+4}{2} \\ m=\frac{3}{2} \end{gathered}[/tex]

The slope is derived as 3/2
