60 inches represents the circumference of the tree

The circumference =

[tex]\pi\cdot d[/tex]

Where d is the diameter of the tree

so,

[tex]\begin{gathered} \pi\cdot d=60 \\ \\ d=\frac{60}{\pi}\approx19.1 \end{gathered}[/tex]

So, the answer is : the diameter of the tree is a bout 19.1 inches
