Input 3y+11 for x

2(3y+11)-3y=16
6y+22-3y=16
3y= -6
Divide by 3 to isolate y
y=-2

Now for x....

x=3(-2)+11
=-6+11
=5
x=5

Coordinates (5,-2)

1. You plug the x equation in the nest on. 2(3y+11)-3y=16.

2. You then simplify it. 6y+22-3y=16

3. You simplify it more. 3y+22=16.

4. Next you subtract 22 from each side. 3y=-6.

5. Divide both sides by 3. y=-2

6. Then substitute y for the first equation. x=3(-2)+11

7. Next you simplify. x=-6+11

8. Simplify more. x=5

9. You get your results. x=5 and y=-2
