In order to solve this problem, we need to multiply 2/3 * 1 1/2.

[tex] \frac{2}{3} *1 \frac{1}{2} =6/6=1[/tex]

(1 1/2)(2/3)

((1*2+1)/2)(2/3)

(3/2)(2/3)

6/6

1

So one cup of milk is needed to make one and a half times the original recipe.
