'Simplify 3(a^2)(b^2) x 4(a^3)b.' Is my answer correct?

I got 3ab^6 x 4ab^4, which was then 12ab^10.

I'm confused about multiplying A and B when both have different powers.

So multiply with powers is actually adding powers with same base
So answer is 12a^(2+3)b^(2+1) = 12a^5b^3
