Well i think you mean to simplify 42/70 which is:

(2 * 3 * 7) / (2 * 5 * 7)
= ((2 * 3 * 7) : (2 * 7)) / ((2 * 5 * 7) : (2 * 7))
= (42 : 14) / (70 : 14) = 3 / 5
