An artesian well is a well
drilled into an artesian aquifer. An artesian aquifer is a small
aquifer which contains groundwater under positive pressure. Since the water is
under positive pressure, this forces the water level in the well to rise above
the water surface up to a point where hydrostatic equilibrium is reached. This
results in the formations of “Springs”.
