The Native Americans' well-being was overlooked in the making of this treaty. The Treaty of Paris gave Americans the right to expand westward all the way up to the Mississippi River. The Native tribes sought alliances with Britain in an effort to gain arms and harass the colonial Americans, who began to expand westward on to their land.
