Half of the pieces of fruit in the bowl are apples. There are also 6 oranges, 4 pears, and 2 banana.

How many apples are there in the bowl? Show your work!

Answer: 24 apples

2 banana

Add them together

6+4+2=12

It says half of the bowl are apples so

12 x 2 =24 apples

You’d first have to first cut each fruit number in half 6 = 3, 4 = 2, 2 = 1

Followed by adding your new numbers
3 + 2 + 1 = 6 , therefor there are 6 Apple in the fruit bowl.
