When Darwin visited Galapagos island, he found different varieties or species of finches. The study on these finches helped him to come out with the concept of natural selection. He observed difference in the size and shape of the beaks among various finches. He explained that the difference is due to their food habits and in course of evolution they adapted themselves to their environment.
