Slope of a line is represented by the formula:

M = y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

Substitute the coordinates in.

M = 1 - (-5) / 4 - 2

M = 1 + 5 / 4 - 2

M = 6 / 2

M = 3

The slope of a line passing through the points (2, -5) and (4, 1) is 3.

Solution: C) 3

So you do the slope equation to solve this.
Insert your numbers and get, 1- -5/4-2.
Then you simplify, get 6/2.
Divide and get 3, so the slope of the line is 3.
Hope this helps
