According to Freud, the personality is a complex product of the mind which is a tripartite composite made up of the id (instincts and drives), the superego (an internalized and idealized form of authority), and the ego (the conscious processes of the self); these three in conjunction, or rather, conflict, can be said to represent one´s personality.
