I believe the answer is: The digestive system. The digestive system is the pathway mostly responsible for breaking down the food and liquids we intake. The materials we ingest are processed through different organs and are slowly absorbed  by the body through the process of digestion. Other supporting organs that contribute to this are the liver and the kidneys.
