Brison has $5 more than michael. together they have $73. how much does each have

To answer the following question, you do it like this:

Michael = x
Brison = x + 5 

Michael + Brison = 73

x + x + 5 = 73
2x = 78
x = 39

Michael has $39 and Brison has $44 :)
