It is given in the question , that

A farmer has 3/4 of an acre to plant beans and squash.

And out of 3/4 of an acre, the farmer used 4/9 of an acre in planted with beans .

Therefore, for the squash, left acre is

[tex] \frac{3}{4} - \frac{4}{9} = \frac{3*9 - 4*4}{36} [/tex]

[tex] = \frac{11}{36} acres [/tex]

Hence , 11/36 of an acre is left for the squash .
