A) x * y = 48
B) x -y = 8

A) x = 48/y then substituting this into B)
B) 48/y -y = 8
B) 48 -y^2 = 8y
B) y^2 + 8y - 48 =0
x = 4  y = 12

12*4 = 48
12 -4 = 8
