Realism.
Realism is attempt to present subject matter truthfully. Realism was coined and discovered by a French Novelist, Champfleury. Realist matter means meant scenes of peasant (low life status) and working class life. Realism can also be applied as a more general stylistic term to form of sharply focused almost realistic paintings.
