(f -g)(x) = f(x) -g(x)
  = (x^4 -x^2 +9) -(x^3 +3x^2 +12)
  = x^4 -x^2 +9 -x^3 -3x^2 -12
  = x^4 -x^3 +x^2*(-1 -3) +(9 -12)
  = x^4 -x^3 -4x^2 -3

[tex](f-g)(x)=x^{4}-x^{3}-4x^{2}-3[/tex]
