The Affordable Care Act which was instated during Barack Obama´s presidency and is sometimes known as Obamacare is justified by the phrase ¨for the general welfare¨ in the Preamble. This concept can be defined as holding the US government responsable for providing care for all people, not just a few elites. Therefore the Affordable Care Act, which aims to increase access to healthcare to all Americans is adhering to this phrase.
